About the Speaker

Shana Habel

A K–12 arts coordinator for the Los Angeles Unified School District, Habel supports dance educators through curriculum development, programming, and district arts partnerships. She has taught dance across K–12 and higher education, including at Loyola Marymount University and as a field supervisor for the dance credential program at California State University, East Bay. A past president of the California Dance Education Association, Habel served on the writing team for the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards and is a Lester Horton Award recipient. She serves on the board of the Language of Dance® Center and is a Master Practitioner in the Language of Dance®.
