How Do You Heal From a Pulled Hamstring?
January 24, 2018

A few years ago I pulled my hamstring. Ever since then I’ve had trouble with it. How do you heal from a pulled hamstring?

Strained hamstring muscles can be very difficult to recover from. Most people continue to walk (or hobble) after a muscle strain, which can set up compensation problems that continue long after the muscle should have healed. Resting and stretching are very important, and sometimes deep-tissue work or myofascial massage can help to break up adhesions and restrictions after the initial healing period. It’s a good idea to have a full-body massage and explore where the lines of tension or restrictions are in your body, and then focus your stretching and strengthening efforts to address what was found.

To your success,
