Pirouette Superstar Sophia Lucia Wows at YAGP Finals

If you’ve seen First Position, you know just how important the Youth America Grand Prix can be to a dancer’s future. (Aran Bell, we see you, doing your thing in ABT’s Studio Company!) (Also see: Michaela dePrince.) So 13-year-old Sophia Lucia might want to get out her sunglasses, since her recent second place win at the YAGP Nationals—for a contemporary duet in the junior division—is making her future so bright, she’s gotta wear shades.

You may know Sophia as the Guinness Book of World Records holder for the most consecutive pirouettes: 55. (NOT A TYPO.)
