Get Inside Access to San Francisco Ballet Rehearsals Tomorrow (Without Having to Leave Home)
September 7, 2017

Have you ever wanted to know what goes into the making of a world premiere for a top-tier ballet company? Well, tomorrow you can find out, when San Francisco Ballet streams rehearsals and interviews live on Facebook for their third installment of Unbound LIVE.

Unbound LIVE goes inside the SFB studios in real time as the company prepares for Unbound: A Festival of New Works—12 world premieres by 12 choreographers set to debut April 20–May 6, 2018. Tomorrow’s broadcast will feature interviews and rehearsals for works by Alonzo King, Cathy Marston and Trey McIntyre. Featured dancers will include Mathilde Froustey, Sarah Van Patten, Ulrik Birkkjaer, Sofiane Sylve and Tiit Helimets.

“This is the first time we’ve done a project that has allowed audiences to have a sneak peak of this much new content during the rehearsal process,” says company manager Lauren Chadwick, who produced and directed Unbound LIVE. “When we’ve done World Ballet Day in previous years, the audience has been able to see maybe one or two new pieces being created for the upcoming season, but in this case they’re seeing all 12.”

Since the launch of World Ballet Day LIVE in 2014, SFB has been one of the five main ballet companies featured during the full-day stream. The company will participate again this year, October 5, 11 am PST.

To see Unbound LIVE, tune in to SFB’s Facebook page tomorrow, September 8, 5:30 PM PST/8:30 EST. Have to miss it? You can access the full stream for 60 days from the time of the broadcast on either SFB’s Facebook page, website or YouTube channel.
