Travis Wall Confronts Homophobia With a Powerful New Video
March 29, 2018

Choreographer Travis Wall recently shared a video he directed and produced about the struggle of dealing with homophobia. The Shaping Sound artistic director, who is openly gay, pairs his contemporary style with an acoustic cover of “This Is Me” from the Grammy-nominated musical
The Greatest Showman, performed by Broadway’s Shoshana Bean, and the result is truly moving.

Wall posted about the video on Instagram, which includes a photo of him with anti-gay slurs written on his face and body, as well this poignant caption:

“Fag. Unworthy. Small. Reckless. Invisible. Failure. Weak. Sinner. Vile. Homo. A few words that have been used against me. Message is simple, take something negative and turn it into something positive. Bold. Worthy. Strong. Safe. Standout. Champion. Brave. Survivor. Beautiful. Perfect.”

In a separate post, Wall stated all proceeds and downloads of the video will benefit
The Los Angeles LGBT Center. Watch the full video below:
