From director shifts and beyond, here are the major dance educator moves you should know about from summer 2024.

Oliver Till has been named director of Kansas City Ballet School. He succeeded Grace Maduell Holmes, who departed to become director of San Francisco Ballet School, on July 1.

Janie Taylor has been named artistic director of the Colburn School’s Trudl Zipper Dance Institute for the 2024–25 school year, succeeding Margaret Tracey. Gavin Kelley has been named interim administrative director.

Lauren Post has been appointed school director of Minnesota Dance Theatre & School. She succeeded interim leader Elayna Waxse on August 15.

Miranda Rubio Opsal has been named principal of the School of Ballet 5:8. Autumn Stull has been named co-director of the pre-professional program.

Kyle Seguin has been named principal of Texas Ballet Theater’s Dallas–Preston Center school.

Jordan Brasfield has been named The Woodlands associate school director of Vitacca School for Dance.

Iain Mackay has been appointed the next artistic director of The Royal Ballet School beginning in September, succeeding Christopher Powney.

Anita Young has been named artistic director of the British Ballet Organization.

Former Royal Ballet soloist David Yudes has been named director of Barcelona’s Escola de Dansa Marisa Yudes.

Kurt Froman has joined the faculty of Pacific Northwest Ballet School as head of its Men’s Division.

John Clifford and LeeWei Chao have joined the faculty of The Portland Ballet for the new school year.

Sydney Skybetter has been named faculty director of Brown Arts Institute. He will begin at the post on September 1, stepping down as deputy dean of the College for Curriculum and Co-Curriculum.

Mandy Moore has been named director of Pace University’s Commercial Dance LA semester.

Nancy Kleaver will step down as executive director of Dancing Classrooms at the end of September. Deputy director Eve Wolff will serve as acting executive director.
