Dance educators, scholars, authors, and dancers are set to converge for a literary celebration this weekend as the American Dance Guild presents its second annual Dance Book Fair on Sunday, March 29, from 2–6 pm EDT at Peridance Center in New York City.
Designed with the dance education community in mind, the fair spotlights the growing field of dance literature as a vital extension of studio practice and pedagogy—bringing together an impressive roster of, according to the ADG website, “57 authors and 63 books that explore dance history, technique, biographies, anatomy, novels, philosophy, choreography, pedagogy, children’s books, and research.”
The authors featured this year are: Kyle Abraham, Mindy Aloff, Vladimir Angelov, Arthur Aviles, Kristine Bendul, Robert Bettmann, Jaime Shearn Coan, Costas, Christine Dakin, Marilynn Danitz, Douglas Dunn, Deborah Engerman, Karen Diaz Ensanian, Rima Faber, Ara Fitzgerald, Betti Franceschi, Kyle Froman, Naomi Goldberg Haas, Karen Greenspan, Anna Harsh, Stuart Hodes, Joseph Houseal, Ishmael Houston-Jones, Judy Hussie-Taylor, Wendy Jones, Jenn Joy, Elizabeth Kendall, Stephan Koplowitz, Katja Pylyshenko Kolcio, Miriam Landis, Gavin Larsen, Margot C.
