What My Teacher Taught Me: Logan Kruger

Kruger in Rodrigo Pederneiras’ Come With Me

Limón Dance Company member Logan Kruger grew up studying dance with Annette Lewis in a nontraditional studio setting—which informs Kruger’s approach to movement investigation.

“We danced in the basement of a church, using metal folding chairs as our barre. Because we were dancing without mirrors, Annette put a strong emphasis on a deep physical understanding of the dancing as opposed to an outside-in, shape-oriented approach. I think it served me well in that I’m not afraid of investigating movement deeply from a sensorial place.”
