This should get your Friday going: Camille Brown, DT’s August 2015 cover subject and TED Fellow, just released a video detailing a visual history of social dance in 25 moves. How many of these can you recognize? I spy the cabbage patch, whip and nae nae and the twist, to name a few. All these moves are danced by her talented company members, with a few guests.
Seeing this video is like watching a fast-forwarded version of Brown’s social dance classes, one of which I got to see last year. She led a group of 35 girls through a fast-paced history of social dance in New York City, and it was fascinating—and empowering!—to watch.
Check out the video, and share it with your students!
