The Royal Ballet School’s Affiliate Program and the Ashton Foundation Enter a Brand-New Partnership
June 14, 2024

Earlier this spring, The Royal Ballet School’s Affiliate Training and Assessment Program announced a brand-new partnership with the Frederick Ashton Foundation. This collaboration is a first for the Ashton Foundation and provides a unique opportunity for students to learn ballets from the choreographer’s repertoire.

The ATAP, which offers an alternative training model to The Royal Ballet School’s traditional curricula and syllabi, allows accredited instructors to teach the curated program in their own schools. Created for dancers ages 5 and up and divided into six levels, the ATAP model combines in-person training, online webinars, and on-demand educational video content and is geared towards both private and recreational dance schools in and outside of the UK.

For this partnership, répétiteurs from the Ashton Foundation have specially adapted the choreography for Les Rendezvous, The Dream, and Les Patineurs for young dancers. Via the RBS’s online platform, ATAP-accredited instructors will gain exclusive access to written materials and instructional videos to guide them in teaching the repertoire. Video assets will include clips of each solo and recordings of Ashton Foundation répétiteurs coaching students in the choreography.
