Paying Tribute to Tap

During its 15th annual Tap City festival in NYC in July, the American Tap Dance Foundation honored Heather Cornell and Karen Callaway Williams with its Hoofer award. Al Heyward and the late Carl Schlesinger received the Tap Preservation award for their efforts to keep the dance form alive, and the late Ray Bolger and the late Henry LeTang were inducted into the International Tap Dance Hall of Fame. The New Jersey Tap Ensemble performed a tribute for Callaway Williams, and ATDF artistic director Tony Waag danced for Bolger.
