  Seán Curran is the new dance department chair for New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Curran, who founded the Seán Curran Company in 1997, joined the Tisch faculty in 2011.

• Dr. Jane Chu
  is the new chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, appointed by President Obama. She replaces acting chair Joan Shigekawa and will serve a four-year term. Former president and CEO of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, Missouri, Chu holds bachelor’s degrees in piano performance and music education, a master’s degree in business administration and a PhD in philanthropic studies.
