Gottfried Arnold in action at DELAmidst the recent viral videos of wrecking-ball kitties and the evolution of the endzone dance, it’s possible you missed Dance/NYC’s three-month-old video campaign, “New Yorkers for Dance.” It’s definitely worth checking out! Each video features a dance leader from NYC, expounding on why dance matters to the creativity, neighborhoods and economy of this arts-centric city. Dance celebs like David Hallberg, Robert Battle, Elizabeth Streb, Sara Mearns and even the Rockettes have all gotten in on the video action so far.
This Sunday, September 29, Dance/NYC will unveil a new video to add to the series (drumroll, please): former DT cover Jody Gottfried Arnhold. This release is perfectly timed with the 92nd Street Y’s Dance Education Laboratory open house the same day, and for good reason—Arnhold is the founding director of DEL, an organization devoted to training and supporting dance educators that’s been around since 1995.
