Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company Kicks Off Its 15th Anniversary with a New Dance Film
February 14, 2014

Remember Daniel Gwirtzman, the focus of our most recent “What My Teacher Taught Me” newsletter segment? He’s currently celebrating the 15th anniversary of Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, and he’s doing it in style. Starting today and continuing for the next 15 weeks, he will release an original dance film of his creation, as part of the company’s Winter/Spring Film Festival 2014. The first film is Encounter, a chance meeting of two strangers in New York’s Grand Central Station, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

You can check back each week on the DGDC website to see a new film. The celebration culminates in the company’s performance of a world premiere at BAM Fisher at the end of May—and that will generate its own film: A livestream of the piece.
