What do the late Muhammad Ali and Misty Copeland have in common? They are both in the National Museum of Dance’s new exhibition, The Dancing Athlete, in Saratoga Springs, New York. The exhibit explores the connections between dance and sports through photography, video footage, costume/attire, sculpture and other memorabilia. Featured artists and athletes include Jacob’s Pillow Dance founder Ted Shawn, Olympic ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White, boxer Sugar Ray Robinson and former New York City Ballet principal Edward Villella. The Dancing Athlete will be open through spring 2017. Dancemuseum.org
