Houston's Chapman Dance Explores the Meaning of Balance in New Work
May 30, 2017

Teresa Chapman, associate professor at the University of Houston and artistic director of Chapman Dance, presents her new work BALANCE this weekend.

Inspired by seniors from the Fonteno Senior Education Center, Chapman worked with six local dancers and three seniors to explore the complexity of different physical and emotional states and how maintaining balance affects our lives—it’s the source of motion; it’s everything coming together; it’s complicated.

The project is funded in part by the City of Houston Arts Alliance and the support of Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center Innovation Grant and the University of Houston College of the Arts.
