From parents recording every combination to students posting rehearsals on TikTok, smartphones have permeated the dance studio.
So how can teachers and studio owners balance the desire to capture and share dance joys while protecting privacy, maintaining boundaries, and keeping students focused in class?
Join our next DT+ Teacher Talk, “Filming in the Studio in the Age of Social Media,” with Broadway Dance Center’s director of education, Allie Beach, on Wednesday, October 28, at 12 pm EDT, for an in-depth conversation that will explore how to set clear filming policies, establish privacy and consent guidelines, navigate boundary-setting conversations, and create alternatives to in-class filming.
Whether you’re looking to establish filming policies for the first time or refine guidelines you already have in place, you’ll gain practical strategies that support both your studio community and your students’ learning experience. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions in real time.
