Shen Wei Dance Arts founding member Sara Procopio earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in dance from Hollins University, where she studied with Donna Faye Burchfield. She found Burchfield’s continual quest for knowledge inspiring.
“She’s always changing it up, always striving, learning and growing herself. She doesn’t stagnate. She’s always on the edge, always pushing further. I hope I can give back to the students I teach in the same way she did for me.”
Procopio performed with Shen Wei Dance Arts at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas, Texas, on June 19.
