Valerie Harper on Dance

Though she is known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Valerie Harper got her start performing on Broadway in Rock, Rock, Rock and Li’l Abner in the 1950s.

In her recently published memoir, I, Rhoda, the New York native mentions when she “began dance classes at the famed Luigi’s Jazz Centre, where [she] continue[s] to take classes to this day.” Luigi’s faculty informed us the jazz legend sent Harper a personal note in response, thanking her for the mention and telling her, “Never stop moving.” Great words to live by!
