LV DANCE COLLECTIVE will show work at CHOREOFUND 2.
The staff of Luna Dance Institute in Berkeley, California, has come up with an ingeniously simple way to support up-and-coming choreographers. Instead of paying for tickets to the upcoming CHOREOFUND 2 showcase (June 5), audience members will deposit $40 in a communal pot. After watching seven brief pieces, they’ll vote on one choreographer to take the whole prize. The winning dancemaker can use the funding to produce his or her newest project.
