Ballet San Jose Made It—For Now

In a scramble to keep its doors open, Ballet San Jose asked the public to donate to its fundraising campaign, Bridge to the Future, which ended over the weekend. The company raised $640,000, exceeding its $550,000 goal. This was thanks, in part, to a $105,000 grant from the City of San Jose. The community contributed a huge amount, as well, in a collective show of support for its ballet company.

The work of keeping an arts organization afloat is never over, unfortunately. The company has announced it must raise an additional $3.5 million by October to keep its doors open as it re-brands itself as Silicon Valley Ballet.
