In this hour-long discussion, renowned dance physical therapist Marika Molnar provides expert insights on the anatomy of the ankle, causes of injury, and ways to correct overpronation. New York City Ballet principal Tiler Peck also demonstrates simple and effective ankle-strengthening exercises.


About Marika Molnar 

A physical therapist, licensed acupuncturist, and founder and president of Westside Dance Physical Therapy in New York City, Molnar is also a health and wellness coordinator for the New York City Ballet and School of American Ballet. 

She is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS) and has published several academic articles on foot and ankle injuries and rehabilitation. In 2017, she received the Dance Magazine Award for her pioneering work in the field. 

About Tiler Peck

Tiler has worked as a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet since 2009. She recently added to this title, making her choreographic debut with the NYCB with her piece Concerto for Two Pianos, receiving incredible reviews. She curated the Music Center’s BalletNOW program, and starred in and produced the Hulu documentary Ballet Now, which features her journey as the curator, performer, and director for the Music Center’s show. More recently, she curated, choreographed, and produced her critically acclaimed show Turn It Out with Tiler Peck and Friends, which recently finished its West Coast premiere. In film, she choreographed and appeared in episodes of Tiny Pretty Things and Ray Donovan, and choreographed John Wick 3, the box-office smash hit film. She has made appearances on “Dancing with the Stars,” the Kennedy Center Honors, and “Julie’s Greenroom.” As a guest star, she was the first ballerina to ever appear on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” She has released two children’s books, Katarina Ballerina, with Simon & Schuster. Tiler is a recipient of the Princess Grace Statue Award and the Dance Magazine Award, and was named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30. She has over 500K followers on Instagram and 207K followers on TikTok, where she posts ballet and lifestyle content for her ever-growing audience of dance enthusiasts.
