Your Friday Inspo: These Ballroom Kids Are Seriously Talented Competitors

Maybe ballroom dancing isn’t the first topic you’d think of to get pumped up about life, the future and humanity in general. But I guarantee that this will: Dancing Classrooms, the ballroom outreach program for school kids in NYC, has its 2016 finals competition tomorrow (#DCNYCGrandFinal2016). These kids have spent the last semester learning ballroom dance styles—like the rhumba, swing and the cha-cha—and making their way through the semi-finals this week.

Dancing Classrooms—the subject of the 2005 documentary, Mad Hot Ballroomis all about fostering sportsmanship, elegance, teamwork and tolerance, but these kids also become seriously talented movers. Check out this clip from last year’s finals:
