Get 3 Certifications That'll Boost Your Business, All in One Place
April 29, 2019

Dance students aren’t the only ones who get to spend their summers learning new skills and refining their dance practice. Studio owners and administrators can also use the summer months to scope out new curriculum ideas, learn the latest business strategies and even earn a certification or two.

At Dance Teacher Web’s Conference and Expo, attendees will spend July 29–August 1 in Las Vegas, Nevada learning everything from new teaching methods to studio management software. And as if the dance and business seminars weren’t enough, participants can also choose from three certifications to earn during the conference to help expand their expertise, generate new revenue and set their studios apart:

1. Dance Teacher University Certification

Instructors who enroll in this certification program will receive comprehensive training in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary/modern, preschool, anatomy and injury prevention. Designed in conjunction with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the certification has two levels; the first for beginner or recreational dance training, and the second for the intermediate or advanced dancer. Instructors must complete level one certification before moving on to level two.

Participants will gain a better understanding of anatomy to help their students with injury prevention and to answer common questions about aches and pains as well as receiving syllabi for all styles. This certification can give your studio a competitive edge and empower you with the knowledge to train healthy, well-rounded dancers.

Plus, all participants will have the opportunity to take a variety of classes at the conference when not participating in the certification program.

2. Royal Academy of Dance Silver Swans Licensing

This two-day licensing program is designed to help your studio tap into the growing adult dance market. The Silver Swans program was created for adults age 55 and over who want to stay active through ballet, and was developed by experienced RAD dance education experts to ensure it’s safe and beneficial for older dancers.

Since many of the people who enroll in Silver Swans classes are retired, studios can offer these classes in the mornings while the rest of their students are at school.

3. Acrobatic Arts Preschool Certification

This certification equips teachers with an engaging acrodance curriculum designed for preschool students. Attendees can complete this certification in just 6 hours on the first day of the conference.

The Acrobatic Arts training will show you typical benchmarks for preschool age children, how to use imagery and storytelling in your classes and more than 150 exercises that foster social and physical literacy. Your dancers don’t need any prior acrobatics experience to take these classes, and you don’t need any special equipment. Studios can incorporate this curriculum into mommy-and-me classes or use it to build a completely new source of revenue.

Whether you choose to earn a certification or not, the Dance Teacher Web Conference and Expo is an opportunity for studio owners and instructors to stay up-to-date on the latest teaching methods and marketing approaches.
