Karen Hildebrand, Editor in Chief
Karen Hildebrand is Vice President-Editorial for all dance publications and websites of Dance Media (Dance Magazine, Dance Teacher, Dance Spirit, Pointe and Dance Retailer News). She first became a dance education advocate as Education Editor for Dance Magazine and Dance Magazine College Guide. Jenny Dalzell, Assistant Editor
Jenny Dalzell holds a BFA from Boston Conservatory and teaches ballet class at Groove with Me in East Harlem, New York. She grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and became interested in teaching and arts education while attending the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts. Rachel Zar, Assistant Editor
Rachel Zar has danced with the Ballet Chicago Studio Company and Joel Hall's JHD1511 in Chicago. She earned a BA in English from Tufts University (with minors in Communications & Media Studies and Dance), where she was president of the repertory dance ensemble, Sarabande. Kristin Schwab, Assistant Editor
Kristin Schwab graduated cum laude from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Dance and Journalism. She has also trained at Ballet Arts Minnesota, the Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, and has taught at the Joffrey NY summer program. She currently dances with James Martin and Summation Dance Company and has shown work at several NY dance venues. Kristin edits DT’s Style feature and Goods pages. Joe Sullivan, Managing Editor
Joe Sullivan has worked for publications ranging from CIO to Food & Wine. Previous to joining the editorial staff of Dance Teacher, he worked for Dance Magazine and has edited and written books, written about music extensively and played and recorded music with several bands. Margaret Fuhrer, Contributing Editor
Margaret Fuhrer attended summer programs at the Chautauqua Institution and Boston Ballet while in high school. She graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University where she served as co-artistic director of diSiac Dance Company, and later earned a master's degree in journalism from New York University. She has been a pre-ballet instructor for Acton School of Ballet in Massachusetts where she studied classical ballet. Margaret edits the Theory & Practice column. Katie Rolnick, Contributing Editor
While earning her BA in Theatre and Drama from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Katie Rolnick taught at a local studio and was a member of Jazzworks Dance Company. Emily Giacalone, Art Director
Emily Giacalone earned a BFA in Communication Design (majoring in Illustration) from Pratt Institute. She got her start in magazine design with George Magazine and has worked on a variety of publications including Vogue, Four Seasons, Show People, Pilates Style, Pointe and Dance Retailer News.
